Title: blue vase
Post by: alliececilr on Jul 16, 2015, 21:50:05
Hi.  This red clay vase looks modern but when you look closely it has age signs.  It has uneven bubble holes in glaze and dome iron spots.  Is it Japanese or Chinese?

I would say Japanese, they embossed marks like this, the Chinese would have centered their mark and would have been written differently, I am not familiar with this type maybe someone else can answer.

With partial pictures it is always difficult to tell. Japanese, but this could as well be new studio ware.
The other, green one seems new too.
