Title: monochrome triple gourd vase
Post by: elizabeth on Mar 03, 2014, 12:21:33
Found this interesting vase at a thrift store.  The glaze is of a mat finish.  There are characters on the bottom.  The condition is excellent.  It does not look old at all.  But after seeing some Chinese ceramics at the museum... there are some very old pieces that look brand new!    Any idea of the age?  What do the marking indicate?
I cannot find any examples of triple gourd vases in this white glaze anywhere.  The pictures are taken with a flash and the whiteness of the glaze is exaggerated.

Search for "Middle Kingdom Porcelain"
The name of these people is in the mark.
They seem to have established MK end of 90s in Jingdezhen.

Thanks ... I found the vase... not old. But not worthless either!
