Title: Chinese lidded melon shape celadon jars
Post by: Teunis van Eijk on Mar 06, 2015, 17:37:38
Hi,

I have a pair of Chinese Celadon melon shaped covered jars with blue relief paintings of blossom and valuables.

Any idea what period these are?

They measure 34 cm high and have a diameter of 25 cm.

Blue and white decoration on celadon.
Age is difficult to tell, but it might help if you could provide pictures of the bottom and interior.

Late Qing dynasty, in my view.

Hello there,

There was a Chinese collector which was very interested in these Jars, even with the broken lids.
They are on their way to HongKong now. Good thing because we (my wife and myself) can buy some new items now. We run an Art and Antique shop from our home but it looks like we are getting addicted to Chinese arts and furniture.

Cheers,

These are very nice lidded Jars, I would have bought them myself.
