Title: Need help identifying Please
Post by: adamelamed on Feb 28, 2015, 16:03:52
I found this piece and I think its beautiful but I know nothing about it. I want to know if anyone can tell me about it. Where does it come from? Does it have any value? Is there a specific name for this type of pattern? Does this look like a rare piece? If anyone has any information about this piece I would greatly appericiate hearing from you. Thanks.

I can't tell if this is a Shunzhi six character mark or not, but regardless the mark is spurious and the lacquered brown color I have not seen on Chinese porcelain only on Japanese, but the flowers are clearly Chinese, so this would be a more recent item I think, last half of the 20th century.

Hi Stan, it is a Tongzhi mark used mostly on 20th century porcelain. Your age rating is the same as mine.
