Title: Large blue and white beaker vase
Post by: Stan on Jan 31, 2015, 03:24:27
Hi Peter, Im not sure about this one, I picked this up at the local auction, the bottom is painted brown, the blue and the decoration could be late Qing or brand new fake, it looks like it has some age but lacking late 19th century age signs in my opinion, your expert opinion is appreciated, the vase is 50.5 cm tall, I will post 10 photo's to view, thanks.

Stan, you should avoid direct sun rays. Sun light does modify the colors somewhat. In one of the pictures the hue of the blue color looks like chemical pigments were used.
The bottom is all right. At least late Qing dynasty, I would think.
