Title: Assistance in identifying age of Chinese Ginger Jar
Post by: sonnylady on Jan 25, 2015, 03:42:56
We inherited this and need to know more about it.  It is a hunting scene that goes around the jar, telling a story of the hunt.  The base and lid are wood.  It is 16 inches tall in total.  Pictures attached.

This looks like Guangu period, close up pictures of the detail and of the faces and one picture of the top without the lid is needed to confirm, thanks.

A closeup picture of a part  of the decoration showing people's faces would help. As Stan said, it is probably Guangxu, but pictures are too small to make sure.

Thank you for your assistance.  Here is a picture of the top without the lid and a close up of 2 faces.
