Hello everyone!

I have a small hand painted rectangular blue porcelain tray with a mystery mark on the back. I had this item appraised at an auction house for 300-500 Euro, but they were unable to identify the maker. They said it was most likely 19th century "Asian" (ha!).

In my own research, I have seen similar painting styles in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean porcelain (Joseon period pieces for example). What is baffling, however, is the mark on the back, which would seem to be pictorial. It almost looks like a woman's head?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards,

Adam

Looks as if the decoration tries to look like Kangxi, but the porcelain box has no age signs. Probably new. Never saw that mark.
