Japanese Porcelain Jar / Hand Painted Birds and Flowers with Gold Details

Hello,
I've had this little 7" jar/vase since high school. I picked it up at a rummage shop I used to always go to in to 70's. The bird and flowers are all very nicely hand painted. It may also have had a lid at one time, but it was missing. There are characters on the bottom but, whether they will help identify the age or maker I don't know. This has been a forty year old mystery I'm hoping to solve now that we have the internet as a resource. Thanks for any help and expertise. -Mike-

Could be the mark of "Yukitake" Shoten. The top part of the mark could be a  figural depiction of a mountain, or it could be a modfied version of one of the characters in the personal name of the founder.
The answer you got on AsianArts last year is quite to the point, I think.

Thank you for looking at the jar Peter. Even though it is Japanese.Yes, I sometimes forget if I've posted the same pieces elsewhere. I always like to get opinions from a couple people to see if they all agree. I like the Asian art forum but their format not so much. It's hard to go back and look at past posts and the 12 hour lag while they screen for spam is a bit annoying. Your site is much easier to navigate and your replies are much faster as well.
