I want to buy this jar from local Antique shop. The details is 18 - 19 th century but the jar looks new.

Could you please help me to identity this jar.

Yes, this is probably new.
If you look at the characters on the side and lid, as well as the side decoration, you will see that they look as if they were painted with a stencil. Antique items aren't usually painted that way.
