Hello, I am new to the forum and would be grateful for any advice regarding identifying the age and authenticity of these vases and plate, which have been in my family for at least 60 but very probably longer. The vases are not marked on the base but the plate is. I am guessing they are 19th century. Does anyone know how you identify them as genuine? Many thanks

Please upload pictures. You can click "Reply" and will have a field below to attach the image files, or you can post a link to the pictures if they are on an other site.

Many thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I can't even load one photo as the fies are too big and I can't see how to resize them on the iPad, which has the best camera. Think I'm going to nave to load them onto the desktop and try again.

Aha think I have done for a couple at least, fingers crossed

Hi, the images are a bit too small. In view to size they should be about 100 ~ 250 kB (or 600~800 dpi) each, to make sure details are visible. If you click on (more attachments) when uploading pictures, you can upload several at the same time.

What these small pictures seem to indicate is that these are rose medallion vases are from the late Qing dynasty.
For confirmation of age it would be best to upload closeup pictures of some parts of the decoration, especially of the faces (partial pictures), the gilded part of the neck, and the base.
The plate image size is quite insufficient. Need also larger images of base and top to verify age, as such plates were made until more recent times.
The colors of the gilded part  and foot rim are essential to verify that the items are not from a later time.

Have taken some new pics hopefully the right size etc. to help with identifying the two vases and plate.

Thanks for the additional pictures. They confirm that these rose medallion items are antique, probably from the same period, and Qing dynasty.  However, I cannot read the mark. The characters are too blurred, but seems to be a private mark. Agewise I believe this to be about second or third quarter of the 19th century, judging by the painting style.

Thank you, that is really helpful. I am thinking of selling them, but not sure of the best way to go about it. Would you recommend I approach an auction house or would it be just as sensible to offer them on Ebay. I would like them to end up in the hands of a genuine collector but not sure what the best way of achieving that is. Any advice would be very gratefully received.
