Hello again,

This time I have a cup, purchased at a Japanese auction - is it Goryeo period?

I am also curious about the "bubbles" on the inside - what's going on there?

Thank you in advance.

Not sure with this. The white slanted lines indeed suggest a Goryeo dynasty item, but the whole condition of this, but especially the bottom, makes one wonder if this is a failed product or a fake. Without a proper cleaning of the exterior one may not tell more. It does not look like shipwreck ware, but the bottom and the holes in it makes me suspicious. With Chinese ceramics it is known that shipwreck items are faked too, but this!? If this is not a fake, the most likely explanation could be that it was excavated from a mound of kiln waste...perhaps.

Thanks Peter! Yes, the condition is strange...
