Hi, I would greatly appreciate some assistance identifying an old vase.  The vase is about 4.5 inches high, and 14 in. in diameter at the widest point.  The roses and bird on the vase look similar to some famille rose plates I have, but the making on the bottom is really different.  The plates were all blank.  I have tried to translate the mark with no luck. It is probably sideways or upside down, as I do not even know which way is right side up! Thanks so much!!

Both shape and mark are not Chinese. The mark character shows that the writer had no idea of Chinese writing and just tried to imitate a Chinese character.

That is really interesting. I know it is older, 60 years at the very least. Do you have any idea what it could be?  Thanks so much for your reply, I greatly appreciate it.

It looks as if someone tried to imitate Chinese porcelain. Could be SE Asia or in the west. I have seen such marks before...could have been made in the same place.
