Someone I knew give me this vase as a gift.
It has a restauration by the neck but for the rest it is in one piece.
Looking on the internet I found out it is a Nanking vase.
But further information I cannot find.
Question: why the name Nanking vase? is it made in Nanking (Nanjing)?
And is it old or not, wich period are these vases made, it has a kanxi mark.

Yes it is old. At least Guangxu reign judging by the neck decoration of lions.
The vase picture is not close enough to make sure if the warrior decoration is original. Some where added later. Many if not most porcelain vases having that brown applique decorations do have a crackle glaze. This one has one on the neck, how about elsewhere?
The bottom mark is almost illegible but it seems to be the standard Chenghua mark. This vase has nothing to do with the Chenghua reign, it is just that most items of this type use this apocryphal mark.

Nanking term: see https://www.chinese-antique-porcelain.com/chinese-porcelain-glossary.html

Thank you for your answer, this info helps me a lot.
The person that give me this vase said it is from Canton but I read Jingdezhen made and I guess shipped from Nanking and that
is why people named it a Nanking vase?
To bad that there is a restauration on the neck, its old but don`t think worth a lot and also not with the restauration.
The vase has on the outside a crackle glaze all over, the best is it to see by the neck.
