Hi all,
I would like to have comment on this vase.
In my opinion, it is Qianjiang style early 20th century.
The style and colors (not brilliant) point to that period, I think.
There are many signs of age, what is strange is that the calligraphy looks quite new.

Thank you,
Adriano

Hi Adriano,
You are quite right. There could be a plausible explanation for the writing being black, but there is no way to know if this applies here, without a calligraphy specialist inspecting the writing style.

Early republic, it seems, the painter signed name and bottom mark both mention the name 袁義興 (袁义兴), Yuan Yi-xing, a known qianjiang painter.
