Kraak porcelain:

We cannot rely on one source alone for information.
An acquaintance who knew the author M. Rinaldi personally (she took pictures of some of his items for her work) told me that she did not publish her out-of-print book again, because it contained inaccuracies, according to her. But even now, many collectors to depend on it due to lack of something better.  That is not a rare occurrence in the world of Chinese porcelain. Many things that were known in the 1980s are now considered inaccurate. With more research knowledge changes. The same person also emphasized that 'Kraak' is not a type of porcelain -- it is just a decoration style. Other countries also made Kraak style decorations, not only China.

We cannot just take any information from sources of the past at its face value...it may be superseded by newer discoveries.
