Hi Miriam, nice plate, the Characters are illegible, the plate is Satsuma maybe Kawato, the Characters shown are usually on the left of Characters on the  right, I wonder if there are Characters under the stamp, however only use your discretion to peel back on the left side just enough to see if there are other marks.

The mark could be reading 'Kawamoto'. The second character is more difficult to identify because of the handwriting.
