This a larger (14 inch) Satsuma vase with fairly nice artwork. I cannot make out the mark. Any thoughts as to age or translation of the mark?

It's a Generic Satsuma mark under the Shimizu family Crest. On last photo I cannot see the Crackling effect they usually did, I don't know if it is because of the flash or it does't have one.

now, if it does't have crackling it's not Satsuma. either way it's probably some year in the 20th century since Generic Satsuma marks were very common in the 20's to 50's.

Not seeing the bottom or the inside and lid 50's or later in my opinion.

Could you post a picture of the full bottom and one of the bottom side of the lid, thanks.

It is difficult to tell by these photo's if this is earthenware or porcelain, porcelain will have a high ring tone when you click it with your finger, make sure it is sitting on a towel to hear the sound better, from the top it looks like it could be made from a mould.
