Is this an antique?

Hi donna, Im at a loss on this one the only thing that resembles Chinese is the mark, the high polished gold look would put this in the 2nd half of the 20th century if it is Chinese.

Thank you Stan....it was purchased in an antique store about 10 years ago.
I forgot about it until recently.

This is in an European style, apparently not that old, judging by the mark. The latter could be both, Chinese or Japanese.
