Hi there, hoping you could help identify a vase. It appears to be a Kangxi lotus pond vase but would love someone a bit more knowledgable to chime in on whether it's of period or not. Apologies for the quality of the photos, taken off my phone.

Multiple photos can be found here:

This looks like a modern vase, the decoration with thick black lines is from the later periods also the  colors are not right, in my opinion.

Stan

I forgot to mention the decoration looks printed.

Thanks so much, shows what I know...I thought those were clearly brush strokes on the reddish lotus.

I got excited when I found this as I thought the outlines were similar:

Turns out it looks like it may just be a copy of this:

Thanks for the input!

Ah thanks, also the colors are not as bright as they appear because of the flash.

Stan

The brush pot at bonhams that you give looks like 20th century the artist is Cheng Yiting, I believe and the other that you give is not an auction house that I ever heard of, I would stick to the high end auction houses or reputable museums, you can't believe what most of  them say, just because they say it is, does not make it so.

Why was that link removed? The link was to a house that just liquidated the Graham Geddes antiques. Hardly a fly by night operation.

Hi, basically we want to avoid to give the impression that we are endorsing items at that link (or any link).
Links to museums, research institutions, etc. are usually fine, but those to commercial enterprises are only acceptable if they are well-known. Among the latter are the top tier international auction houses, of which Bonhams is one. (There are only three).
These have specialists for each field and are relatively reliable when it comes to authenticity. In general, dealers and 2nd tier (and below) auctions do not have the capability to ensure 100% of their items are authentic.

A few of the 2nd tier auction houses are also fairly good with Chinese antiques, but the one you mentioned was never heard of, as Stan already mentioned. It may be known in your area, but...

I had a look at the item at the links before they were removed. Even with the single, small picture it was clear that it is not an authentic antique. The whole painting style is something not looking traditional at all. Even the original item that you posted below is better than that in this respect.
It is recommended that you do not trust any commercial links, unless you have prior knowledge that they have specialists in the field of Chinese ceramics, who check them. Not Asian ceramics, or ceramics in general, these will never do. Some smaller auction houses have Japanese or others look after the items they auction, but this will never do.
Unfortunately, this is the time we live in. The fakes with which China is flooding the world makes it all more complicated.
