Hi

My grandpa previously mentioned that this is a replica of a famous yuan period piece.
Replicas have been practiced for centuries or so I was told.
Can anybody kindly provide an estimated period of production for this specific piece?
Most grateful for key summary points and a brief expansion of these points leading to your conclusion.

Thank you!

The glaze is much better with this piece. You can see the dark, blackish areas within the blue color? That is something typical for this type of decoration in Yuan porcelain. However, it can be faked. Therefore, a hands-on inspection would be needed, using a magnifier. But there are probably only a few specialists and museum researchers that can tell the good Yuan fakes from the real thing. As such items have a very high value, the fakers put more efforts into faking. Almost everything can be faked today.

This forum is not suitable for evaluating this type of item, the same way as it is not suitable to comment on imperial ware. This all requires advanced knowledge and inspection methods to verify.
