Any help with the origin of the bottle, age and the translation of the calligraphy?

This is Japanese, but not sure of the age. The hole was added later.?It mentions the name "Masuda ... ", probably a shop name. I would guess it was used for sake and this is either the seller or the place where the sake was sold/used.
